My first blog post

Hi! I am so excited to kick start this blog and share with everyone all my projects, from failed to successful. I have so many things to share, so many ideas and this blog will help me actually get them done. Motivation.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a 29 year old stay at home mom to a 16 month old little girl and 3 month old twin boys and married to the love of my life. You can just imagine how hectic our home is right now, but it is the most joyous time of our life, I know that, and I am taking it all in like a champ. The only thing I can complain of is the lack of sleep, but taking advantage of the extra hours I am awake is actually growing on me. I used to be a sleeper. Before having the kids I was one of those persons that just absolutely loved sleeping. I’m trying to change that though (i have no choice) and I am actually falling in love with early mornings. You know, before there is even a hint that the sun will soon be making its appearance mornings. When everyone is finishing their dream. That’s when I’m up, feeding the twins. I even have my own personal internal alarm, and I am starting to really enjoy those mornings. Coffee is also my new thing. I have never been a coffee person. I did not ever join the whole Starbucks trend and still have no interest in doing so. My husband is a hot black tall cup of coffee with no sugar kind of guy, he is also an early bird and is totally loving my new found love for early mornings. It gives us both some quality time together, a moment of peace from crying babies, and time to catch up with each other. He is undoubtedly my best friend, my grandest supporter and the greatest person I have in my life.

When Ken and I fell in love. It was magical. It was as if I dreamed him into reality. I’ll save that story for another blog post but, we both had very similar views on everything. We both agreed that the day we have children I would become a stay at home mom and he would provide for our home. He was blessed with the ability to be a great leader and has a wonderful job working for a wonderful company. Another thing we both agreed on was that we wanted to live a simple life, away from the loud hustle and bustle of the city. He spent many years living in Los Angeles and expressed to me how much he did not want that life again. Lucky for him he married a country girl who wants nothing to do with the city and “that” life. No offense to those who love it. Its just my thing so to speak. So, when given the chance, we bought ourselves 40 acres of beautiful land in a small farm town in New Mexico surrounded by beautiful mountains. Soon our mornings are going to be a lot sweeter.

Our future homestead

Our future homestead

Currently, we are not on the property yet. I’ll have to post about that later. Still, its looking like we will be there in say 2 weeks? Hopefully. Crossing my fingers. Praying every night. In the meantime, my head is swirling with ideas of what to do with this beautiful piece of our own little heaven. If you are wondering what hubby and I talk about in the mornings when there is peace…this is it.

There you have it. A little bit about me and my family and what to expect from this blog. Tons of posts on building, remodeling, animals, the struggles of starting a homestead, my struggles as a stay at home mom to 3 children under age 2, my sewing ventures, diy decor in our new home, and everything organic living.

Until next time,

-Cristina
